About the Event
Volunteer Orientation Session
Ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and families living with memory loss? Join us for a one-hour Volunteer Orientation Session designed to introduce you to the heart of Memory Matters and help you find the role that fits your interests, strengths, and schedule.
During this session, you will:
• Learn Our Story
Get an overview of Memory Matters’ mission, history, and impact in the Lowcountry. You’ll discover how our programs—Adult Day Respite, Connections & Re-Connections, Brain Boosters, caregiver education, special events, and more—work together to support brain wellness and family caregiving.
• Explore Volunteer Opportunities
We’ll walk through the many ways you can serve, including program engagement, administrative support, special events, and community outreach. Whether you have a few hours a week or occasional availability, there’s a meaningful place for you here.
• Understand the Application & Onboarding Process
Learn what to expect next: background checks, paperwork, training requirements, and how we ensure a safe, supportive environment for participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
• Ask Questions & Get Personalized Guidance
We leave time at the end for open Q&A, so you can feel confident and informed before taking your next step.
At the session, you’re welcome to complete your volunteer paperwork on-site or take it home to return later—whatever works best for you.
Volunteers are essential to our mission, and we’re excited to welcome you into our community of compassionate, committed helpers.
