Overview

Your very important gift to Memory Matters offers families living with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, and those caring for their own memory, the opportunity to receive vital programs and services. All donations remain in our community to help local families. Every gift helps. Whether you are considering a donation or already committed to supporting Memory Matters’ Mission, you have many options for making your gift. Gifts to Memory Matters are tax deductible under the EIN # 58-2291775. You may designate your gift unrestricted operations—where it is needed most. We’re grateful for your support, and we’ll be happy to help you find the method of giving that is most convenient for you.

Make a Planned Gift

Join our Legacy Builders in the Legacy Circle of Hope. A bequest is a gift from your estate—a transfer of cash, securities, or other property made through your estate plans. You can make a bequest to Memory Matters by including language in your will or living trust, leaving a portion of your estate, or by designating Memory Matters as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy.

Remembering Memory Matters with a bequest from your estate will help sustain and strengthen Memory Matters in years to come. Some of the advantages of creating a bequest include:

A bequest costs nothing now, but it gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have provided for Memory Matters in the future. Please click here for the bequest language to use when supporting Memory Matters after your lifetime.
You retain control of the use of your assets during your lifetime.
You may modify your bequest—revocable—at any time if your circumstances change.
Gifts to Memory Matters from your estate are exempt from federal estate taxes.

Match Your Gift

You can double—or even triple!—your gift without paying a penny more. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your company to see if it offers a program that will match your gift to Memory Matters. They generally want to know a description of the nonprofit. We are a 501C3 and serve the local community living with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia with support and services. We also provide brain health education to all.

Make a Payroll Deduction

Have gift payments or a recurring gift deducted from your paycheck.

Make a Gift in Kind

You can donate items of tangible personal property (including art, programs supplies, collectibles, books, equipment, annual auction items), and other personal assets or materials of value and Memory Matters welcomes many such gifts in kind.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA

A qualified charitable distribution can be made to a qualifying charity. Memory Matters is a qualified charity under the EIN # 58-2291775. A distribution can be made from an IRA, an inactive SEP or SIMPLE IRA by contacting your IRA Financial Advisor to request a check in the amount of $100,000 or less mailed to:

Give From a Donor-Advised Fund or Foundation

Donor-advised funds (DAF) or foundation offer the favorable tax benefits of giving directly to the charity with the benefit of the timing of the gift. Donor-advised funds are companies such as Fidelity or Schwab Charitable. Donor-advised funds are easy to initiate, yet usually have a form to complete. Seek out your financial advisor for this information. There is nothing to do from Memory Matters’ side, only to have the donation mailed to Memory Matters. Please be sure your name and address are included on the distribution or in a letter so we know how to thank you.

Kroger Community Rewards

Participate in the Kroger Community Rewards program by linking Memory Matters to your Kroger Shopper’s Card. When you make a purchase, all you have to do is swipe your Shopper’s Card, and Kroger will donate a percentage to Memory Matters. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day.
